At the Eugene O’Neill Theatre Center, Allison and her company were tasked with the adage: “Risk, Fail, Risk Again.” It is this motto that pervades Allison’s work. From 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM seven days a week, Allison and her cohort were immersed in theatre. As an Advanced Director, Allison was tasked with a new piece each week, assigned actors and a space, and given only a few days to rehearse and mount the scenes, as if directing and designing a full-fledged production. Here, Allison honed her craft by learning that exceptional theatre can be made anywhere, at any moment, if one has the courage to “Risk, Fail, and Risk Again.”
